East Riding of Yorkshire Council hits the spot

The ERYC has experienced record increases in the number of people using Libraries in the area. More than 1.5 million people have visited one of the branch libraries or mobile libraries - and the number of active borrowers rose from 53,711 to 69, 850 over the period April 2006 to April 2007. How did they manage it? No magic formula - its all down to "The investment that the council has made in new stock, improved buildings and mobile libraries is really paying off." according to Alan Moir (Libraries, Arts & Heritage Group Manager), and the "library staff...and [their] collegues in the council whose hard work to improve and promote the library service is now bearing fruit in an impressive manner."
